Update on Mo

As of this morning, Mo is on hay (90% pasture grass/10% alfalfa) only. After two days on the Strategy GX, he was ballistic again. We spoke to our new trainer and she strongly recommended getting him off everything except hay. He is once again back to his normal self. We will be taking him to the trainer on Sunday for six weeks of ground schooling. During this time, we have made arrangements with an equine vet for Mo to be gelded. Susan (our trainer) will do an evaluation on Sunday, which I think will be fascinating to watch. More to follow...

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

That all sounds great mosaic's mum. Hay and a good nutritional supp is all most horses need. I'd be wanting to spend as much time with this Susan as possible, to learn what's what, and also get her to give you a lesson or few too before you take him away, where you handle him yourself under her supervision. Often people can miss little things they're doing themselves around a horse that triggers certain behaviours, so make the most of having that feedback.

Excellent progress Mo's Mom! Keep on posting the updates, I'm curious to see how he does with just the hay and the training and gelding. Lil feller's gonna think his world is coming to an end, gonna have to BEHAVE! LOL!
