Buying a new horse- Feed suggestions for my area? The Caribbean

Hi! I'm currently shopping for a horse and want to have a little game plan for nutrition. I'll be keeping it on a friends land- 4 acres to free graze, but the problem here is that I'm in a tropical climate (Caribbean) so although we have lots of fresh green grass, it grows extremely fast so its not very nutritious. Hay here is crap, hard to find and expensive and alfalfa doesn't exist as far as I know.

Adding some grain to the diet is a given, but do have a favorite vitamin/mineral supplement for a situation like this? I'll need to be able to order it on amazon.

Based in the horse I'm looking at all be feeding a smallish (14h rang) paso fino, moderate riding.

Thanks and let me know if I need to include any more details for feedback!

I can't help you with the basics, like hay, etc, but we have a couple of members in your area. Maybe if you put "Caribbean " in the title, they'll find you

I'd start a new thread" anybody from the Caribbean, I need feeding help" and link to this one
