I was feeding him beet pulp because he was a little ribby lookin. Sorry, I should've added that... Thanks everyone! Now I'm going to post a thread for everyone to critique his grain ration...

Both of my tb mares eat beet pulp and do not get any grain or hard feeds.

Green Broke
We feed ours beet pulp and hay. We do put a little sweet feed in with the beet pulp as a treat. They are all doing well. Beet pulp is usually cheaper than grain and is easier digested.
