I did about eight months worth of research in it. The only things I will feed are hay cubes, hay pellets, beet pulp, and rice bran (rice bran only for my old man). I researched the deficiencies in my area and picked the best multi vit/min. I also feed kelp and ground flax. My app/ qh cross who was a very hard keep and in no work at all went from 12lbs of triple crown senior a day to two pound alfalfa/oat cubes and two pounds of beet pulp a day. My spotted saddle in heavy work went from 10lbs of ultium to two pounds of alfalfa/oat cubes and three pounds of alfalfa pellets.
I had to tweak the amounts of multi vit/min supplement and ground flax to each horses needs. I threw out all my salt and mineral blocks for loose salt. My horses also have 24/7 access to hay whether it is summer or winter.
