You have to be extremely careful treating proudflesh with meat tenderizer as it can eat away at the healthy tissue.

No I don't recommend that no it is like a salt,you find in spice section of the supermarket

I don't recommend it either, unless you want to tenderize a tough steak.

Agree you have to be careful using it. I only tried it once years ago & it did work, but there is better stuff out there these days for treating wounds. Just thought I'd throw it out there as the OP asked for homemade remedies from the cupboard & that is one I new of

This is all very useful! Thankyou! Never heard of the meat tenderizer, probably wouldn't try it, but it does make sense.....it eats away at the protein fibers in a steak to soften it up, so I guess it would eat away at proud flesh too

Some people put it on bee stings. The idea is that it destroys the bee venom. I don't know if it helps.

Listerine (the plain one) and baby oil mixed together, spray on tail base for itchy tail. This is assuming the horse is not rubbing due to worms. I used all the time to keep my horses tail nice and healthy for shows.

Instead of buying expensive electrolytes, mix one box of baking soda and one box of iodized salt together.
