Coat Supplements

Hey!

So I'd really like to start Mudpie on a coat/skin supplement. I've heard of a ton of them, but I'm not sure which one would work for us.

What do you guys use and how does it work?

Thanks!

The magic to coat supplements is fat content. I've heard Omega Horseshine is the best in the business by our frequent buyers, but I've had halter horse folk tell me regular weight booster will work just as well - one woman even told me powdered milk replacer will put a shine on a horse like no other - but I have no idea what dosage she was giving and I haven't seen her since to ask her! She had be intrigued.

I love rice bran, I have noticed a huge difference in Casey's coat, but, it does add weight onto horses, I have heard flax adds shine.

Flax, rice bran and another the halter people I knew used to swear by, called Calf Manna. This was years back, could be obsolete now.

Hm... CalfManna makes them kinda hot, which is fine for Mudpie... but he's on LMF Senior feed, RedCell, and U-7 Gastric Aid, so rice bran is out. I'm looking for something more like "Omega Horseshine." I'll check it out...

Anymore suggestions?
