He is currently in pretty vigorous work and I'm finding that the current ration just isn't giving him enough. I tried both Strategy and Compete before without the current ration when he was in light work and he seemed to do well. However, I took him off grain due to a no working period and just started feeding the beet pulp, rice bran, etc. Now that he is back in work, he is starting to get a little too lean, even when I increased his current ration. I just feel that his recovories and performance would benefit from having a little bit of grain in there. Just wanted to see what people thought about both products before buying again =)

Well, my horses on each on one right now. My mare is on Strategy because at the barn she is at, and my gelding is on Safe Choice at the barn he is at. I can't really compare because their feeding programs are different other than the grain.

My mare only gets about a pound of hers twice a day, so I will likely switch to some sort of ration balancer type thing. She just gets so hot on grain, but I like her to get a little something at feeding time so she doesn't feel bad :) She is on grass hay all day, and grass pasture for about an hour, and gets grass/alfalfa mix hay in her stall.

My gelding gets about 4lbs a day of the Strategy, and he is on actual pasture for about 6-8 hours a day, with grass hay in front of him 24/7.

Green Broke
We are feeding Safe Choice Perform, made the switch a few months ago, to DD's TB and I am very happy with it. Although TSC does not have access to the Perform or Special Care formulas, our local Nutrena dealer is able to add feeds to his order one bag at a time (vs pallet) from his source, so we get it through him. We have also discovered that Rural King stores carry all three formulas of Safe Choice (seem to be the only "chain" retailers that are able to do so at this point), so they are a great fall back if/when we don't get our order in to him on time...try to avoid that, though, as it's an hour drive vs being able to stop on the way to/from work.
Aero has never looked as good as she does, even when we were fiddling with mixing beet pulp, afalfa pellets/cubes, rice bran, etc...
