hi I have a 8 year old arab mare who has been real sluggish. She has not wanted to do anything, I am trying to start showing soon. And there is just not enough time for me to properly train if she doesnt have any energy. I just want to know what I can do. Please help me.

What do you mean by sluggish, is she lazy, poor work ethic, laid back? Has her energy level changed suddenly, or has she always been like this?

Also what is her current diet?

What are her living arrangements, do you think she feels safe to lay down and sleep a few hours a day.

Have you had her vetted and a CBC done?

If she is not feeling well it could account for her being sluggish.

There are so many reasons why she could be acting sluggish, or maybe it is her personality, past training current training.

With a little more information it will be easier to offer you advice.

Best to have a vet check first. But, Strategy Healthy Edge will give them energy without making them hot. Currently my show Arabs get hay pellets supplemented with Life Data Labs Barn Bag. My pasture puff gets hay pellets and Equine Total Gold. They are o pasture 24/7.

Ditto gssw & walkin. What have you ruled out?

If your horse is not too thin, it's unlikely more calories are going to help anyway. Sometimes it could be because they're too fat - Obese people aren't known for their high energy levels either!
