Garlic

So, right now my tb mare just get lucerne chaff and sunflower oil in her hard feed, I was think of adding aiming in there to just get more vitamins in. I've done some re-search and I'm think of putting garlic in to her feed.
I have a few questions,
How much do I give her?
Is garlic appealing to horses? I'd hate to buy it and Zo to turn her nose up at it.(she isn't a fussy eater tho)

Garlic is very appealing - adding it to feed can encourage picky eaters. Be aware that despite the hype about garlic, most of the 'wonder' properties of garlic are seen in vitro rather in vivo: the only two proven and quantifiable health properties of garlic are the high fit C content and the fact that it causes salivation, encouraging horses to eat. The rest of the benefits are unclear as yet whether they work in vivo and in the volumes we feed our horses. Just FYI (:

We feed garlic to help with fly and tick control. My horses seem to inhale their feed when we add garlic. Of course, then they have wonderful garlic breath.
