gone crazy

Over the last few weeks i've noticed a change in Muss. He's become nipping, moody, very 'hot headed', going through many mood swings, kicking (almost kicked me in the head today) and his head is always swining back and forth and we've all come to the conclusion its because of the feed he's been getting and no excecise because my work keeps putting me on night shift. So the girls who aggist where my boy is said apparently yesterday afternoon he was galloping up and down his paddock like crazy and they looked around and there was nothing at all there to be making him do this and he was apparently galloping around for 15 minutes straight.
At the moment we've been feeding him wheaten, lucerne and a handful of sunflower seeds but we've only just started feeeding so weve been experimently. I've now taken him fully off his whole feed tonight coz I honestly think this is why his whole personality has changed. I've got a trainer out to finally help me and he did improve but hes got so much energy to burn and being a lazy thoroughbred i've never seen him so..well high strung i suppose.
He is also sore on his right side of his bum and flinches if u apply pressure there so I'm going to get a chiro out for him, ive never got one out before so i know nothing about them but two people both agree that is bum is quite obviously sore when you appy pressure there.
So right now we are gonna just put him on hay once a day and probably only if iactually ride him. what is everyones opinion on all this, does it sound like its his food thats affecting him??

Well, usually Alfalfa is fine and doesn't make horses hot, but some horses are "allergic" to it and go crazy on it.
