Help choosing a supplement./hoof conditioning

Right now my horse is just on hay 2 flakes in the morning and two in the evening I am looking to add a supplement to her diet to make sure she is getting enough vitamins and minerals.
She does have a salt block with selenium and I am thinking of starting her on flax to help condition her hooves..3 of her hooves are white so I want to keep them as strong and supple as I can..I'll take any suggestions on that as well!

The omega horse shine or omega horse shine Grand complete.

A ration balancer or multi-vitamin will cover nutrition without adding unneeded calories. I really like Triple Crown 30% Supplement (ration balancer). If you just want a multi-vitamin, I've heard very good things about SmartPak's SmartVites, but haven't tried them with my horse. Either of these should cover the needed selenium; depending on how the selenium is in your area, you might consider switching to a plain salt block.

For omega's, you can feed plain whole flax seed (I give my horse 2 oz twice daily) or a stabilized ground flax product like Triple Crown Omega Max (which is just flax) or Omega Horseshine/SmartShine/etc. (these have some added nutrients- but is not total nutrition... I.e. It can't replace the ration balancer or multi-vitamin)

Farriers Formula Double Strength is the TRUTH. I started my boy on it not even a month ago and I can see a huge improvement in his hoof condition.

Good diet & well balanced nutrition are the best thing for hooves, so agree with Verona & co that a good quality complete supp/ration balancer is a good move. I add a little flax & magnesium.

White hooves are no weaker/softer than dark hooves BTW. Just that you tend to see any minor damage more clearly, so they look worse.

Hoffman's free choice minerals are my choice. I just put out a bunch every week and keep it topped up, along with the salt in another container. Made a huge difference in my horses hooves, and I had a hard keeper -- Hoffman's made her less of a hard keeper. Obviously both the horses were missing something!

My horses all have access to good mineral licks (not just salt) and I feed a low sugar/low starch complete pelleted feed that has all the Vits and minerals balanced in it rather than start adding bits and pieces of things.
I do add an Omega 3 oil to their feeds but not in large quantities
My white hoofed pinto has really great feet - she is barefoot for most of the year and never has any cracks or chips in them so don't be too taken up with the idea that white hooves are somehow inferior

I agree with posters ^^, a good well rounded diet and to be parasite free is all they need. I personally think hoof conditioner additives are a waste of money. I currenlty feed alfalfa, laken lite, and a RB (usually moormans), flax (grind it myself and put it in the freezer to stablize...lots cheaper) and beet pulp (just for sand colic prevention). All their hooves..blacks and whites...are tough as nails. :)

No difference with white hooves its just a myth lol as the rest suggest a good all round supplement or if you want something for hooves biotin is brilliant :)
