Looks like there are lots of good recommendations for what to feed already. I just wanted to add that it does sound to me like laminitis, which can actually be tough to diagnose if it isn't severe (visible rotation or sinking of the coffin bone on a radiograph). I have a mare who is chronic, and Quiessence+ a hoof supplement helped tremendously. Probiotic supplements can also be helpful. Best of luck.
