Home remedy/supplement for skin and coat

What do you use and how well does it work? My 16 y.o. QH mare has flakey skin, almost like dandruff.
Guessing something with Omega 3 & 6.

I feed whole flaxseeds, theirs a new study that they can eat and digest it just as well as ground. Also my SECRET is spraying Apple Cider Vinegar on him it is so AMAZING!!!! Every where I go people ask me how my horses coat is so shiny and soft. And even without Flaxseed the Apple Cider Vinegar did wonders

Flax is probably the easiest come by, that and frequent grooming will rid them of "flakes" and make their coat shine.

Another one for flax seed here. I don't even have to groom my boy and he shines from a mile away.

Rinse her with apple cider vinegar. 1-2 cups of ACV in a bucket filled the rest of the way with water. Pour over horse after bathing and sponge onto hard-to-reach areas. Makes the coat shine and moisturizes (definitely doesn't dry it out)...also repels flies very well.
