    horse treats

I have just read your thread and thought I would give you my recipe for horse treats. I made them because I ride an elderly irish draught horse at a riding school. He has terrible trouble with keeping weight on in winter and so I made up this recipe for horse treats. Since he has eaten them he has actually put on weight in winter so I thought I would share recipe.
You need:18 tablespoons wholemeal flour. 4 tablespoons limestoneflour. 4 tablespoons bran. 6 tablespoons ground fenugreek. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil. 5 chopped cloves garlic. Pinch of salt. 18 (or so) tablespoons water. Mix ingredients together until it forms quite a tough dough. Put oven on at 180 degrees and line baking tray with foil. Roll dough into balls a bit bigger than a marble. Bake in oven for about 35 minutes. Give tray a shake every ten minutes so they don't burn on one side. Squeeze them to see if cooked. If feel hard then done. Enjoy!!
