Question Horse weight??

We have a 21 year old horse that lost some weight this winter. Whats the best way for him to gain weight? I used vegitable oil and that did good but he had to have 1/4 cup a day. Is there any other ways?
Thanks

Is he on any specialized feed designed for senior horses? I am not sure, but I don't think that vegatable oil is the best choice, there are people on here that know much more about it. When was the last time he was wormed? When was the last time his teeth were checked/floated?

All those things can have a bearing on a horse dropping weight.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

He is out on pasture and he is on all american senior feed and athlete (supplement) the vet said his teeth are fine, and he is being dewormed every two months.
