I know there are quite a few remedies out there where you use household foods for horses. I'm not talking supplements you can buy from feed stores or mixtures of different horse foods, I mean like apple cider vinegar for joints, vegetable oil for the fats that help tons of things and paprika to keep a black horse black. Are there any more of these that people know of? I've tried looking on google but can't find much. I understand the basic care of using the human foods with horses and that none of them are perfect or always work, I just want to know if there are any other things that could potentially help other problems? I'm sure more people than just myself would be interested.
I don't mean to sound rude by saying this, and if necessary a mod can take this out but please don't respond by criticizing me for asking this. I know that a lot of foods you should ask a vet about dosage and if you should even use it first. I'm not dumb, I'm just curious. I'm not planning on trying every single thing and I don't have a specific issue that I'm necessarily trying to fix, I just find this sort of thing interesting. I'm new here and I understand people don't know my horse knowledge and yes, I have been asking a lot of questions but this has been my first opportunity to ask many of these questions, coming from a large barn where it can be intimidating to ask lots of questions and the ones I'm posting are legitimate questions, not a "I want a horse really bad, how do I get my parents to get me one!?" type of thing.
