I too use Gatorade. Though mainly for the electrolytes.

I also have a very picky horse - therefore I end up having to bring water in a tank from home..

A friend of mine used lemonade in her horse's water bucket anytime we're away from home. She even puts some in her trail saddle bags to pour slightly upstream for her horse to stop and get a drink in creeks!

Never thought of pouring something upstream... Although I think that just the running water scares my horse out of drinking it, not so sure if its the taste.

When I showed rabbits extensively we would use strawberry Jello powder in the water. 1 box jello to 2 gallons water.
