I asked him so many times to let me find him a home,...asking what do you get out of having this horse you never touch love feed, I'll save you money . He thinks he can sell him, WHAT??? 25 years old. Thank you everyone for caring about my boy. Vet will be here in two day THank you all.
Oh good maybe the vet will step in and get something done about the situation. Sounds like the owner could give to xxxxx. Good that he has you looking out for him.

Glad to hear the vet is coming out on Wednesday. Make sure he gives you a plan for feed and nutrition. Take his/her advice on what to do. Let us know what they advise. Until then I would stick with good quality, free choice hay and clean water.

Ok is this all in one bag and what is it called? As I said before the vet is coming on Wednesday.
Thank you everyone for your help.
Purina Animax is a quality feed for senior horses so if you feed according to instructions should do well for him and have everything he needs in it. You can add the oats to it but when you've finished them if you need to add something else for weight gain then soaked sugar beet would be better - But discuss all of this with the vet as he will be able to see the horse and we can't do that
I still think that the owner should sign the horse over to you as right now the guy is taking advantage of your good nature
Maybe the vet could talk to SPCA
