Lucerne Farms High Fiber?

We're on short supply of our regular grass/alfalfa/timothy (I think this is the mix, I don't know for sure as I don't participate in the buying process). The owner is out of town for a few days and we will not be able to pick up a new order of hay until next week sometime. To stretch things, the owner had us pick up 4 bags of Lucerne Farms High Fiber bagged hay (not Gold, just regular).

I have never fed bagged forage before, and we are to mix this Lucerne with our regular hay to help stretch things. The directions for feeding are rather vague at "feed on a pound for pound basis." We don't weigh the hay; we just eyeball what seems adequate for our roley poley horses. So... I am not sure how much to feed.

Today I filled a 5 gallon bucket with the Lucerne and mixed it with probably 30lbs of regular hay for 3 mares and spread it out over their dry lot. Is this adequate? They are on 18 hours of pasture per day and are kept in for the morning until early afternoon on dry lot.

Sorry to ramble. Owner says this bagged forage is very concentrated (?) and to be cautious feeding it/feed very little, so I am kind of confused.

Weigh what you would normally put out in hay, you can use a bathroom scale if nothing else. Take away whatever you are going to take away and weigh what is left. Make up the pounds of the take away hay with the bagged hay.
