Is my horse "skinny"?

:/ Today my BO said my horse was skinny because he could see his ribs :( I thought he looked good. Now I'm doubting myself. I'd rather him be a thin fit than a fat fit because I don't want any hoof issues..When we got him he was chunk, over winter he got even chunker. Now I feel like he's evened out..but now I'm worried he's skinny..He gets 1 1/4 lbs of Gro'n win which is the amount per his weight and work level and 2flakes am 3 flakes pm .. We've been thinking about starting him on BOSS..I know one effect is weight gain..
Literally the day we bought him:

Today(after a much needed bath..)

NO!! He's definitely not skinny!! Don't stress, he looks great. Perhaps your BO is just too used to fat horses. You're right, lean is far healthier than fat, for more reasons than just hooves.

He looks great ! Definitely not too skinny. My vet would rather have them be a 4.5 body score than a 5.5 or 6. If you don't know body scores, 5 is ideal.

Haha my vet is opposite but I don't follow her ideals. She put him at a 6 when she came out last. She wanted between 5 and 7..thats okay. But that was 3 months ago when he got his shots..he's slimmed down since then.

Also looking at this pictures side by side I realize just how fat he was..It's kind of cute how pudgy he was but I prefer him looking like a horse than an elephant...I feel much better now. Won't change anything about his diet.
