Share your 'secrets'.

Hey.
So, from what I saw we didn't have a thread where we could share our little feeding secrets.
Such as oils you feed. Or 'human feeds' that are actually very nutritious for our horses.

I feed eggs - which are very good for horses coats. However, I am very careful with leaving left over eggs in feed buckets so there are no chances of rotting eggs, etc.

Hmm. I just drizzle a little vegetable oil over my horse's grain. I have heard mixed advice over feeding vegetable oil, but my horses do have nice glossy coats and seem very healthy.

Sometimes I will add a dash of table salt too, because it is supposed to encourage them to drink more water in the winter months, and in the summer when I ride them and they sweat, I figure a little extra salt would be good for them (they also have access to salt blocks).

I don't think the iodine in the table salt would be bad for them, do you?

no grains fed here at all

Just good quality hay with a vitamin/mineral supplement

Less is more :)

I have been called the NSC Nazi more then once ... I hate traditional feed methods of loading our horses up on grains and junk food :)
