KV my BIL makes ours and refers to them as "baby bales." They are literally half the size of the ones he makes for himself.

It wasn't much smaller than NDAppy's. It was probably just the novelty of unlimited hay access for the first time. They've started on a new bale and so far seem to be pacing themselves better. That being said, I saw one trying to eat and pee at the same time. Wish I has a pic of that!

Ha ha, the first time I EVER saw Cinny in person, he was passed out in the middle of a round bale and couldn't be budged for anything, LOL. I just chalked it up to smarts, he knows where the warm bed is.

Lol - I hope so for your sake, or that's going to be one big of a hay bill each month...unless you harvest your own hay!

Cinny - my boys do that too! Once they've pretty much eaten the whole bale, they use the leftovers they don't want as a bed. And Allegro uses the whole bale as a scratching post. He loves rubbing his head all over it...he's always got hay in his mane and forelock.
