I think it may have just been the angle of the shot. This was taken last night. Sorry that she looks so pitiful. It had been raining. It's been doing that all week and is apparently going to keep on doing it. Ugh!

Oopsie, she's still a baby, so I am going to keep quiet on diet. It's been many many years since I've raised a young one.

All I know is her weight should be monitored but her bones and muscles are still growing so she needs plenty of the right nutrition.

I don't know if ration balancers are appropriate for the young ones or not

Hopefully someone will come in with some ideas on what's good to give a growing girl

    She sure is a cutie

Yeah, I just found out she's actually younger than I thought. She'll be three in June, June 24th to be exact. That aggravates me that they started her so young. I was thinking that she must have been an early filly, but getting the registration information has been like pulling teeth. The only reason I found out her birthdate was by googling her dam's name and finding the stables that owned her. That site stated when the horse I bought was born.

Anyways, the vet will be here Thursday so hopefully we can get a plan of action worked out. Been talking to the girls on the gypsy horse forum, as well. They agree that getting alfalfa in will be a deciding factor on what to do next. :)
