Sunflower seeds?

Most people around here mix the black oil sunflower seeds in their horse's feed. However I read that the striped sunflower seeds are better for the horses due to pesticide levels. Is this true? Which one should I use?

Green Broke
From what I've read, you should never feed the striped seeds to horses. They have thicker, tougher hulls that cannot be broken down by your horse's digestive system.
