My friend has a 3 yr. Old mare and for medical reasons has not been able to ride her horse much if at all. Since moving home from college she has kept her horse with her sister an hour away and rarely sees her.
About a month ago her sister brought the horse to a local clinic to ride, the horse was very underweight and has not grown at all. Given the circumstances, I've offered to take the horse for the time being as I am in much closer proximity to the owner.
I have never had a problem with weight before as my horses are pretty easier keepers. But would like some input on what to feed this mare and/or supplements to help her grow and fill out.
