No picture, but I wanted to record a feed change :p
I'm switching her to safechoice and cool calories instead of the omelene 200. The cool calories should last me 2-4 months and the Safechoice is a buck cheaper with 7% fat instead of the 6% omolene 200 has, and more protien.
Soo..hopefully she gains a little more a little faster on this regime :p Posted via Mobile Device
Just an FYI. I know a LOT of folks have had success with SafeChoice.
My TBs could not handle it. The NSCs were too high in it for them. I had 2 lose weight and my "chemical sensitive" one went bonkers. But they do very well on Strategy, which is why I THOUGHT they would do ok on SafeChoice.
Though they definitely do better on a pellet than on any textured feed.
Well, I was also debating on just doing half omelene and half safechoice with the cool calories.
I need to have an in depth talk with BO though..She's giving half a scoop omelene in the am with a handful (!!!) of cool calories and half a scoop of safechoice in the pm with a handful of cool calories.
They're both suppose to be totalled at a full scoop per feeding, not one total per day.
Btw, I have two OTTBs on this thread now..I have to upload a picture of the gelding sometime today, lol.
I guess I'll talk to the BO and ration out a week of feed myself if she can't understand it. I'll try half and half with the omelene/safechoice and see how it goes.
I just don't want them to colic and be out two horses that I don't want rid of because BO didn't understand my quite clear (to me anyway) feeding directions. ;; Posted via Mobile Device
Safechoice is not going to stay, she does NOT like the pellets. She takes forever to finish them and she tries to pick out the omelene mixed in wothout eating the pellets, lol. So, I'm just going to stick with the Omelene and Cool Calories.
But, she's gaining weight! She still needs lots on her butt and chest, but she's really starting to noticably fill in now. (:
Well..I just realized I haven't been keeping up with this, lol.
She's really starting to gain some muscle, especially after two weeks of lunging her just to build muscle and gain some more balance while I got a saddle pad that wouldn't rub her withers..
So now we still have to wait for the chiro to come out and adjust her (which I know she needs) until we -really- start working undersaddle. So, a trail here and there between lunging will be our schedule for a few more weeks..then we'll be free and clear (I hope, lol).
Anywho, picture of her from three days ago, lunging:
