Stabler, just a note, text speak is not allowed on this forum. Please try to use real words.

TBs are like every other horse/breed. What one needs is specific to that horse.

It would be easier if you told us what your horse is eating now, then the people here that are smart about nutrition can help you decide what is best to add to your horse's diet to help him gain weight.

What I feed my TB. He is 21 and has always been a hard keeper. We are also Eventers.

I firmly believe that TB's should be permitted to eat Free Choice Hay. As much as they want, as often as they want - a buy Round Bales for my boy.

His Round Bales are Alfalfa, Timothy, Brome mixture. He does VERY WELL weight wise on his hay.

Also, he gets 3lbs of Purina Senior and 2lbs of Purina Ultium = 5lbs, twice a day = 10lbs a day.

In his feed, he gets suppliments from SmartPak.

SmartDigest Ultra and SmartGut Pellets.

His weight is FANTABULOUS and I couldn't be more happier. My Vet just did a "Checkup" on him and she said that he is perfect weight wise and health wise. *knock on wood so that I don't jinx myself for saying that*

Come this winter, I will be adding alot of warm soaked beatpulp/rice bran mash for him once a day. Although he is already getting both of these ingredients in his Purina Ultium, I want him to get more since he is 21, and a TB to boot.
