    What's the best supplement?

Started riding my horse to get him back in shape now that kids are back in school and I now have time and was just wondering what I could give him as a supplement since I will be riding him more . He is a bit over weight so I do not really want him having feed. Right now he is just on pasture and has a mineral salt block by his water.

What are you looking for the supplement to do? Does he "need" anything?

People are all across the board on supplements. Personally, I only want to use them sparingly. However, I am a big fan of glucosamine (for joints).

If you can't think of anything specific he needs, but are still wanting to give him something, look at some multi vitamins.

I love this website- Horse Multi-Vitamin Supplements - Horse Supplements from SmartPak Equine

SmartPaks are so handy and they have great prices. As far as multivitamins go, I just ordered Mega-Cell for horses on grass based diets. I did a lot of research and this looks like a really nice supplement at a VERY nice price.
