Would any of this be beneficial to him?

Well I know some people feed different oils in there horses feed. (ie; Veggie & corn oil) what is the point and how does it help the horse? Would my horse benefit on it? I feed him 3/4ths a scoop of pellet 2x a day and he's in 60 acre++ pasture.

I read about adding corn oil to your horse's feed to add shine to his coat. This was about 25 years ago, so the reasons may have been better researched & studied more thoroughly and changed.

I thought I read somewhere that adding corn oil also may give the horse more energy. I just wanted to know if adding any certain oil would maybe add shine to there coat or something like that and would be beneficial, but if it's gonna make him more energetic I don't want to use it haha.

I found an article about research on this question:
