    What beautiful scenery!
I've been trying to go on a lot more hikes this year myself. However, that cold weather is so not inviting! Kudos to you for getting out there.

It is indeed a very beautiful area! I get kinda bored with going to the same places, so I've been trying to be better about venturing to farther off trails, even though its a bit scary. :)
I am very excited about geocaching, I bought 4 different prizes, so it will give me incentive to keep doing it. For those that are curious, I bought a whoopie-cushion, deck of card, Poof brand pocket plane, and a mini cheese grater! Lol

Umatanum . . . Where is that? It sounds so familiar. Is that out of Yakima?

Yep, as you drive from Ellensburg to Yakima there is the option of taking the freeway or the canyon. Umtanum Recreation area is on the E-burg side in the canyon.

OH MY GOSH I LOVE YOU!!!! A trail horseback rider and one that does geocaching at that!! Love it!!! You've inspired me to go find some this summer with my mare!
Those views were to die for. I'm jealous of the beautiful scenery so close to home. We have some great places as well, but requires trailering.

Thanks for sharing your photos, make sure to post more geocaching photos for us!
