All day trail ride (very pic heavy)

I meant to post this the other day, but Iíve been sick...

On Saturday, me, my best friend, and another friend went on an all day horseback-ride. I took my four year old gelding (well, heíll officially be four on the twenty-third)... my best friend took her six/seven-ish year old gelding, and our other friend took her ten year old mare.

We had to trailer the horses to the trails... it took a while to load my boy, because Iíve never trained him to load or ride in a trailer and heís only been in a trailer once in his life (we donít have a trailer that I feel is safe enough to put my horses in). He eventually got on the trailer, though, and we were off. Our ride was the second time Iíve ridden my boy this year, and it was the roughest and hardest trail ride that heís -ever- been on. It went really well...

It was a lot of fun. We rode up to one of the highest points in Etowah County (a place called Buzzard Rock), then on the way back went around Conservation Lake (a Ďmembership onlyí -huge- fishing area).

Anyway, I took loads of pictures and figured I should share them... lol. I didnít get any photos of the ride up to Buzzard Rock because the trail was too rough, but I got some looking out over the mountain and some on the way around the Lake.

Enjoy! Sorry thereíre so many pics, I had trouble deciding which ones to post...!

Getting ready to leave...

Oops, I should have clarified... The horses didn't have to climb the rock, lol... It's way too steep... We had to tie the horses below and climb the rock ourselves... Lol... Sorry for not explaining... I thought it would be self-explainatory... Lol.

Beautiful! Makes me miss home. I'm originally from AL. I think I miss azaelas blooming the most.

Yeah, it was lots of fun... We're hoping to be able to go again before it gets mid-summer when it's really hot... 'cause then it'll be too hot to make the horses ride that hard...
