On Saturday, me, my best friend, and another friend went on an all day horseback-ride. I took my four year old gelding (well, he’ll officially be four on the twenty-third)... my best friend took her six/seven-ish year old gelding, and our other friend took her ten year old mare.
We had to trailer the horses to the trails... it took a while to load my boy, because I’ve never trained him to load or ride in a trailer and he’s only been in a trailer once in his life (we don’t have a trailer that I feel is safe enough to put my horses in). He eventually got on the trailer, though, and we were off. Our ride was the second time I’ve ridden my boy this year, and it was the roughest and hardest trail ride that he’s -ever- been on. It went really well...
It was a lot of fun. We rode up to one of the highest points in Etowah County (a place called Buzzard Rock), then on the way back went around Conservation Lake (a ‘membership only’ -huge- fishing area).
Anyway, I took loads of pictures and figured I should share them... lol. I didn’t get any photos of the ride up to Buzzard Rock because the trail was too rough, but I got some looking out over the mountain and some on the way around the Lake.
Enjoy! Sorry there’re so many pics, I had trouble deciding which ones to post...!
Getting ready to leave...
