Just thought I'd share a couple pictures of one of the American cream drafts that reside at the MN Zoo, hope you enjoy!

Beautiful! Though this one must be a gelding, as his eye color is wrong and he could not be kept as a stallion according to the breed registry.

He's handsome! I've been wanting to get back to the MN Zoo. I haven't been there in a long time. Looks like I have a bit of extra incentive.

They keep horses at the zoo?
Seems silly to spend tax money that way, considering they arent endangered or even exotic.

The MN zoo has a seasonal farm life section aimed mainly towards kids, and helps supports the state's local farmers. They have the pair of American creams, calves, dairy cows they have milking demonstrations with, a bull that came from one of the first if not the first cloned cows, chickens, and of course the assortment of rabbits, goats, sheep, and pigs. Its a nice little exhibit that gives kids a more hands on view of what farm like is and was like, and it really is just as popular as the rest of the zoo's exhibits.
