This sweet girl is "Valentine" - a red roan QH mare - She and another mare were rescued January of 2009, The other mare is with a friend (Painteddreamfarm) here on the forum.
Valentine's weight is down but not terrible, however she was very dehydrated when we picked the mares up and her coat is in terrible condition having rain rot, missing clumps of hair, its dull, shaggy and gross! In addition the "small" size halters were left on these mares as tight as they could go, both have permanent marks and bald spots on there noses where the halters started to grow in.
It shouldn't be too long for her to be back up to weight so we can start riding and conditioning her though she is thinner than she looks, her hair hides a lot. A bath would help but January in Michigan isn't going to allow that!
Here she is....
