Some many recall that I got my 2nd horse on Oct 2. Archy is a 15 hh Standard bred Appy cross gelding. He is 12 and still a pushy horse. Today I went to the barn with my "students" brothers Dan and Ben. Ben rode Murray and Dan and I worked with Archy. Well, we put on a western saddle and his new bridle. Of course, he made faces with the bridle on at first, but after noticing Murray not making such a fuss with his on, he calmed down. Anyways, I split the arena in two where Ben and Murray can ride freely on one end. Archy was being lunged in the other end. After awhile and seeing how he acts, I decided to lay on top of the western saddle so he knows that someone can be there. He walked around nicely. Then, I climbed on! He was pretty darn good. Was kinda like, "huh? Where did you go?" most of the time, but he walked around nicely. He is still attatched to me when I went to ride my Murray around, would still follow me. Dan rode him for awhile. Anyways, enough chatter, here is what I wanted to show, a picture of me on him!
Thanks! He seems to be getting the hang of things. Once we are good in the arena, I'll see about taking him out on trail. Maybe I'll grab a friend to come ride Murray and we'll make it an event. =]
