    Baby horse photocontest ~ RESULTS!

Ok, here they are! First of all, thank you to everybody who entered pictures and watched the contest. Thank you for letting me judge it! Here's the low-down.

I narrowed the selection down to 3 categories: Finals, Runner up, & Honerable mention. There are 5 pictures in each category. In the finals, I'll put up first through fifth in placing. In the other two categories, there is no "placement". They aren't in any particular order, just all 5 are included for each. Also, I couldn't put two pics by the same person in the top 5. I am going to do critique on each pic, but just as advice. I'm not an expert, but I've learned a lot through other people critiqueing my photos, so I'll do the same for you. Results will be in seperate posts. Here we go!

    FINALS:
(keep in mind, some of these are a large size and don't totaly show on this screen)

    1st: mell

Terrific! This is so cute! It really captures the epitome of the baby horse. The only real critique I have is the date stamp. I used to use it, but learned that it detracts from the image. Also, the baby could have been centered a tad more. Otherwise, the colors are vibrant, nothing to distract from the fucus, and a perfectly caught moment. Good job!

    2nd: Sara

I LOVE it! The colors are vibrant and extremely clear, the subjects are centered, and there isn't much to distract from the focus. The only reason this didn't take first is because of the content of the other pic. So, I have no critique - just compliment!

    3rd: paintluver

Good job. My only advice would be to try to center the animals more. The colors are good and it's clear. You go, Dani!

    4th: Arabian Princess

Cute. I love the capture of the horse. Looks like the horse is very interested in something in the distance. Also, I like how the horse's face seems highlighted by the light and the fact that the body is a tad blurry. That thing sticking off the fence post is a little goofy, but good job.

    5th: JinxXx0085

Oh, this is good. The horse is clear, colorful, and centered. He looks very alert and interested in what you're doing. I love that foot out - looks like he's posing. Good job too!

Ok, the Runner up category will come as soon as I can.

    Yay.

That goofy thing sticking out the fence is the electic fence thing so its not against the wood so it works

We don't want our yearling going through a fence.
But we have no need to worry as we have moved him home now.

    RUNNER UP

Remember, these have no placment to each other, just as opposed to "finals" or "honerable mention"

    Paintluver

This is good, but once again, a little off center. The colors aren't quite as vibrant as they could be, but probably just the sunlight.

    Sara

This is just darling. Sara, you make judging a contest hard because they're all so good! I love how the horse is standing. Cute!

    Mell

Oh, this is darling. It shows the bond between mama and baby. Once again, clear, colorful, and focused. The only thing I could ask for would be to see the whole horse.

    Vidalco

Cute shot. The colors are a little light, but all else is good.

    Arabian Princess

This is a great shot. Number one, because I know how hard it is to get the horse to look at you and look interested! Also, there's a nice highlight on the face. My only problem is, the end of the nose is cut off. I try to avoid that usually.

Oh...... Honerable mention will be out soon.

    HONERABLE MENTION

Once again, not in any specific order

    Whit144man

Nice picture. It's colors are good and not blurry, but the shot is a little grainy. Probably just the camera, which I understand.

    Sweetypie16

This is really sweet. It gives you that "my field" feeling. Well cropped and centered, but once again, pixely.

    Mell

What a darling. I like the angle, crop, and colors, but it's a little bleached.

    Vidalco

I can't say a whole lot about this. It's centered and clear. The colors are bleak, but that's winter. I wonder one thing: How did he get his head out of there?

    Sweetypie16

Nice face shot. It's got all the good points. I don't know where the border came from, but it's still cute. Good job.

Well, there you go! Thanks for all the good entries. I'm working on getting an idea to organize all of these photocontests. More about that later.
    Good night, and God Bless!
