First thing I noticed, he was the boss horse, very FAT, snotty nosed, and knew what made people give up. He was herded into the round pen and I went in with him holding a halter and lead. I stood watching him for a bit, and then proceeded to ignore him for about 10 minutes while I petted the other horses through the fence. Pretty soon this horse got jealous. LOL!
Here is the looks I was getting when I approached with the halter and lead.
I would pet him and then if he moved away I would ignore him again. Soon he had a change of attitude.

I love the looks being exchanged on both our parts in this picture. I am holding the halter and lead but not pushing them on him. Later I rubbed him with them and then was able to halter him.
All in all I spent around 30 minutes to catch him and lead him out of the pen to where Fr. (the fellow who owned him) and his brother were working. They just about fell over when I led the fairly calm (though still pushy) horse through the yard.
I did end up getting him and took him home. I owned him for two years and then finally sold him because I didn't have the time to work with him. He ended up going to a petting zoo.
As you can see he was quite, umm, fat...

Right before I sold him

Just wanted to share my Fjord pics. I hope you don't mind the story book that came along with them.
