Campdraft Weekend !

Hi guys!

So this weekend I went campdrafting with the besties. Didnt ride my new one cause I didnt want to wreck him as he is in the middle of being retrained:) rode my friends quarter horse matilda, she's the bay. Though I was pretty pro doing a run with one stirrup seeing the other one fell of :)

Anyway just wanted to share.
The bay is me and the chestnut is my friend. (smart little acre)

Ws- we went fairly well. The quarter horse I rode is very cowy so she pretty much did it for me haha. Lost my stirrup throughout one round so that one failed haha.

Other than that we went really well!

I don't have too many of me actually campdrafting as mum took a video instead :)

Um so what is campdrafting?? Cool pictures though.

Campdrafting involves cutting a cow from a mob, then working it around the camp (the pen type thing) and then eventually taking the cow through the gate and out around the pattern, which is a left hand turn around a pole, a right hand turn around a pole and then up around and through two poles (also known as the gate). It's popular here in Australia. There's a fairly recent thread on HF somewhere explaining in more detail if you do a search and there's a video from the Paradise Lagoons draft as an example.
