Clipped my mini colt

I shaved Royal today. He was the EASIEST horse I have EVER shaved before, and this boy isn't really even halter broke yet! (he's used to wearing it but doesn't lead well yet and of course no tying yet). First I used my force dryer to get the dirt out of his coat, had hubby hold him for that. He freaked out at first but then stood fine. No reaction at all when I turned on the clippers, and once I had them on him he was loving the feeling :)

I knew he is appy due to the white sclera and I could see white hairs all over... but I discovered he has SPOTS!!!

Bad timing for photos since the sun was almost down, but they'll have to do for now.

very cute!! why did you shave him?

Humans are like Slinkies. Practically useless, but still fun to push down the stairs.

I always love seeing pictures of your minis. You breed such nice looking ponies. I would buy one from your breeding program in a heartbeat. They always look fantastic. Good on your clipping job and the little one. He's absolutely adorable.

Thanks everyone.

I clipped him for two reasons. One, I just had to know what was under there ;) Two, it's 110 here, and very soon even our lows will be triple digits. His fluffy foal coat was so hot!

Ok, I can show ya a before and after ;) The before was taken maybe a week ago?

He's adorable! You did an amazing job clipping him.

Good job! He looks great, and what a brave baby! I'm still having the "clipper talk" with my almost-two-year-old, haha. =]
