I took Enzo cross country today, but started the day off wrong. We got to the barn and, well, Enzo only had three shoes. Our farrier is just not very good for last minute type stuff. So we spent the morning trying to track down a reliable farrier. Anyway, we eventually got this great guy to meet us in the parking lot of a gas station. Yes, it was an awkward situation, but the farrier was someone a lot of our friends use and are friends with aswell. He was very, very quick (less than 15 minutes parked in the parking lot!) and did a pretty good job. We thought it was quite comical!
Once we got the cross country course, he was so good! This was his fourth time out and so we wanted to focus on some more "questions." We started with some simple courses, but my mom didn't get any pictures of them. Then we did some work with ditches, and again my mom missed it. But we spent a lot of time on the banks and water!
He was being a bit of a freak, but it was so adorable! Ignore my horrible riding... He conquered a lot of his fears of water (and banks!) today! I'm so proud of him.
haha sounds like your day started out intresting, i love that the farrier did your guy in a gas station parking lot. id deff keep his contact info! Awsome pictures!!!! I love how even when he's being a freak and he seems to have thrown your position off, your laughing I love rides like that, make mistakes, but enjoy every second of it. I'm glad he got over his fears. Looks like you both had a great time!!
I thought the gas station pics were priceless and then came the other priceless photo's. Keep good care of them so when you are my age you can look back and say "Look what I used to do!" As I said.......priceless!
okay it's EPIC that the farrier shod your horse in a gas station parking lot, they say there is a first time for everything.
You guys look really good. He seems to enjoy the work since his ears are pricked in each photo. And for only his fourth time out, I think you have a good eventer on your hands.
