Deja, Mana and Thelma UPDATE

Soooooooo, FINALLY got Thelma girl home after two and a half months. She is the BOSS. No questions asked, she rules the roost, and that seems to be fine with everyone, so I now own a "herd" of horses I guess. LOL.
When I first let everyone out in the pasture together Deja walked right up to Thelma, acting all mocho,like "Yo, newbie, this is MY turf!" and all Thelma did was double barrel Deja right in the butt! It was LOUD! I wish I had gotten a video of that, the look on Deja's face was priceless! She seemed to be utterly shocked. The last few months she had only Mana to boss around and suddenly she was knocked down a peg! I think it has been good for her to be knocked down like that because she then came over to me for scratches. She hasn't done that since last year! Mana just about rolled over in fear when Thelma came to check him out. He was doing the "I'm just a baby, don't hurt me!" mouth thing and stayed out of her way. He hid behind me and Deja since then. He is so non confrontational about everything, he hates fighting, even with me, so it's been great training him so far. The best thing is, that Thelma protects her food from them so I don't have to sit out there while she finishes her senior feed.

I LOVE her ears! They remind me of those dwarf rabbit ears. So tiny and upright! And they have black tips! My fave! Did you notice that Mana is almost the same height as Deja already?!




Thelma in her spiffy fly mask. She rubs her face on her legs and gets hair in her eyes which makes them weepy, so she has to wear a flymask in the bug season.

Thank you! No, she just has a monster hay belly. Had one last year too. That's what full pasture and no work does to ya. LOL It doesn't help that this is the first year she hasn't had a foal at her side since she was three. She looks better than last year! O.O

Awww! My favorite set of Arabs! They all look great! Mana is getting big. Dang! He's only about a year old right? He could get "huge"! Haha

Thelma looks like a dear. I love her name. I'm a huge fan of old names like that. Also, I love her fly mask! Where did you find it? Is it soft or is it rough?
I need to find Lacey a new fly mask situation because she does the same thing with her eyes. However, her flymask gives her rub spots when she has anything more than her itty bitty summer coat. >.<

Ahg! I know. He's huge already. He's 13 months and 14 hands! It's crazy since Deja is 14.2ish and his sire was a tiny little 14 hand thing! I'm going to do the string test on him today to see what it says. He still has pretty long legs compared to his body, so we'll see if I'm going to have a monster. Haha.

Thelma is a darling lady! And I mean that. She is very proper and quiet about doing things, very lady like! I usually don't like human names on animals, but it totally fits her personality.

Her fly mask I actually got from her previous owner. She has a tack business that she runs from her barn. She sells them for $15, and says that she has washes them regularly and they hold up great.
The solid black part is a stretchy material like on those exercise clothes "body armor", if you've ever felt those. The mesh parts are a very fine, but suprisingly solid material. It holds it's shape very well and doesn't collect hairs in it. It zips up on the bottom and I have not seen any sign of rubbing. I usually don't use fly masks, but I am planning to get a couple for Mana and Deja for next spring. If you want, I will grab one for you too and can ship it to you. I don't know when I am going out there again yet, but I"ll let you know when I am.

Deja is sooooo cute!! Is she crossed with something?

I would love one if you were willing to do that! Do you know if they come without ears? Do you think they'd be hard for Miss PonyPants to remove (she has an itchy face and is therefore always scratching her face on stuff which often ends up removing her flymask which then causes her to be miffed since she hates flies in her eyes! )?
