Dirty horses and Apache lying down YAY!

This is the first time I have been able to get near any of my horses when I have caught them lying down. I was so excited. Anyway they all decided to be a bit feral and get dirty. First pepper who was pretty wet and had to have her rug taken off because of the dam. Sam who decided he wanted to roll near the dam and Apache who thought some new colour in his mane would look nice.

Oh my goodness!!! I finally found a person that has a Varnish Roan! WOW! I am in .....shock....

Is he a POA? Or an Appaloosa?

Haha you mean Pepper? She is an appaloosa. When she was younger she was completely dark brown with a little blanket on her butt.

Pepper yes she is adorable! My mare Glory is a varnish roan and was dark bay as a foal, but now she is all varnished out :) (I am breeding her this year for my next show horse....its only been 2 days and I miss her terribly!)

We have a old QH gelding, similar to Apache. He lets us rest on him when he is sitting down. He is 35 and is laying down most of the day. But, we gave him a bath and we put him in a grass field. He isn't supposed to be in the field, we realize. We go get him and he races across the arena and bucks. Yeah a 35 year old with arthritis? Didn't seem like it! LOL. I just like lay against him. I love him. I wanted to sit on him but I was afraid he would stand up. That would be fun! I <3 bareback!!

Haha yes Apache is cute in looks mostly, personality not always. I would have tried sitting on him but I wasn't sure how he would react.
