    Dressage Clinic

Today was the first day of a 2 day clinic with a national dressage coach and grand prix competitor. After a disaster of a competition on Sunday, it was great to get him out to this clinic and really work on the points that obviously came up on Sunday.
We worked him fairly deep today, as he is quite blocked in the poll and neck. So lots of small circles, shoulder in and also over bending to the inside when he would block his neck. The work helped immensely and he started to come into the bridle towards the end of the session. I'm very keen to see how he works tomorrow!

Oh and yes, his saddle blanket migrated backwards the little bugger, brand new and a bit slippery, plus he worked super hard!

Looks like you two had a great time and learned some really beneficial exercises. I hope we get to see day 2 pics as well!

Also - might I ask what saddle you're riding in? I love that the blocks are super huge as seems to be more and more the norm lately.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I can't express how proud of him I am, he has come just so far in only a couple of months. His test riding in a competition environment still needs some work, but otherwise Im thrilled with him!

Crimson, my saddle is a Dutch brand, Pagony. I got a great deal on it and its a great saddle to fit my short legs haha! The blocks are not actually very big at all, but can see that they do look big in the photos :)

I'm heading off for my second lesson in an hour or so, bit nervous as his breeders and owner are coming to watch!!
