Just got a few really crappy cell phone pix yesterday when my farrier came and did some work on a few of my critters. I had him put shoes on a customer horse (who's previous farrier butchered his feet), and I also had him put shoes on Rafe. And, he gave Talyn her second trim ever by someone other than me.
Rafe has some big old honking feet, but they are really flat and relatively brittle. I took him over to cattle the other day and, in spite of having a good trim, he came home with bad cracks and he'd gimp every time he'd step on a tiny little rock.
I was fortunate that we had a pair of old size 4 draft shoes hanging around because we had to use them on his fronts LOL. His backs were small enough to go in a size 3 regular shoe...thankfully.
And Talyn did really good. She didn't have a freakout over the hoof stand like last time and she stood calmly the entire time.
Her right hind, which has always been her worst hoof to handle, he took some extra time to talk to her and scratch on her before he touched it...and she calmed right down and picked it up and stood like an old broke horse instead of a yearling just a few months away from feral.
