Red face First REAL snow, Eric and Hylke!

We got our first real snow of the year. Way more than the spit of flakes a week ago.

So what better thing to do when you still have a cold? Go right to the barn!

I only rode Eric because I'm sick and probably should have kept inside but of course I took photos of the treat hog known as Hylke.

Eric is pretty fit and loves to run. I think he's actually an Arabian/TB/Greyhound cross not a Saddlebred.

So because I thought it would be fun him and I cantered though the woods in the snow and I filmed it with my iPhone. Hence that funky format. Boo! I hate that but it's better than nothing.

I think this is the first time I've ever ridden him in the snow.

Few crappy photos of where we were at.

Of course cantering that entire course didn't even get him breathing hard, or warm so after a brush and some cookies he went back out to wait for dinner.

Hylke comes to greet me at the gate whenever I am there so they both begged for treats.

Cookies? Grain? Carrots? ANYTHING? WE ARE STARVING.

Eric ate all the snow off the top of that gate.

Hylke is also clearly starving too.

Move back Skinny, that carrot is MINE!

Awh, come on we can share it Wooly Mammoth.

    They didn't want to share.

Eric is so hungry he continues to eat the snow. Poor dear.

Hylke is trying to hypnotize me I think.

Lol, and this is my favorite.

Eric must have been in that movie Pineapple Express.

Dude, you said you had Cheetos?

    Okay, the end.

LOL cute! While the snow I woke up to today was pretty - I'm looking forward to the summer with no winter fuzzies caked in mud.

I have already made a post or two about that, I'll have to dig them up.

Short story. He's up north with a friend of mine who lost her 28 year old horse recently.
