First ride in over 6 weeks and NEW SADDLE!!!

Yesterday was our first "real" ride since Zee tore his suspensory. We are limited to walking for 30 minutes for the next month or two, but he was a champ! No spooking and he was moving through his back and stepping under himself more than ever before. And, I FINALLY decided on a saddle! Yay!!!

I'm not sure which one of us was happier to be riding yesterday! Poor guy has been so bored...

It is always so exciting to get to ride again after they have been lame.

Agreed! I had to wait a month after Gizmo foundered and then it was just light riding. Now he is back to being really good, but now everything is ice!

Op: You are lucky you have an indoor to ride in! He looks great love the new saddle I wanted that color but ended up with black. It looks great on him. Love the blue too.

yay for being able to ride regardless of how much you can officially do. Also, love the saddle. I'm rather new to this forum so i'm sure I missed if there was a thread about deciding on a new saddle. Might I ask what made you go with this one?

Its the Antares Hampton Classic. The ONLY saddle off the rack that fit him. We tried every saddle at every store within 100 miles! I am thrilled that we didn't have to go to the expense and waiting period of a custom...

Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, yes, that is a fleeceworks half pad with shims under the saddle. I am continuing to use it since he has been out of work for so long, trying to save him any muscle soreness, not to really help the saddle fit. Just ordered a thinline halfpad to replace it!!

i'm such a huge fan of the thinline pads. I've notice major changes in how my horses move with one of them (all for the better obviously). Can't wait to hear how one works out for you and your boy.
