Free Jumping to 4ft

I was free jumping my horse and the 4 feet was just an experiment. I only tried it twice and stopped. I don't want to push him but he absolutely LOVED jumping this height.

Very neat that your horse is so willing. If I may, though, your setup could be a bit safer. Please use cups on either side of the pole, and help your horse out (I assume she doesn't jump this height on a regular basis?) by putting a groundline down. This will allow her to guage the sweet spot better, and might help bring those knees up; with the pole resting on the gate and her knees hanging, I'd hate to see a rotational fall. Just want to keep everyone safe :)

I figured some one would mention that haha. I didn't have standards at this time. I do have them now though. He doesn't jump quite that high. Around 3ft. I have been told to put a ground line down and I am doing that next time.

Thank you for the concern and advice (:

Don't worry, I doubt this will happen again. At least not this way. I have standards now and I am using the ground rail.

Oh awesome, no such thing as too safe! Might try some lower bounces to get him to lift his knees more :) Good luck!

Awesome your horse has the ability, now that you are helping him along more, you could do as well in the saddle. Great news, I am excited for you.
