Smile George meeting his horsey neighbors

Jasmine's best friend "Karaha" loves horses like Jasmine does, and she also has her own horse. Her and her mom horseback ride together, and they want me and Jasmine to start going with them this summer with George. Well I'm not sure how that will work out, because George doesn't seem to thrilled about having 2 riders on him. Yesterday when Jasmine rode George, Jeremiah (my hubby) got on him and put Jasmine on the back for a short ride. George wasn't thrilled to say the least. So I don't know if that will work out well this summer.

Anyway, Karaha and her mom Teresa are our cousins and our neighbors. They have an arabian and a quarter horse. On Friday they rode their horses to our house for a visit, plus to meet George. Here's a snapshot I got of the horses meeting :

Awww! I love watching horse meet each other!

Is there anybody in your area who could loan you a horse to ride on these trail rides? I read your other thread about Jasmines second ride on George, and maybe you could pony George and Jasmine on the other horse?

Thank You. It was just a quick shot - but I do really like it!
I use full manual settings. I set everything myself basically (aperture, exposure, shutter speed, ISO, WB, etc.). I'm a photographer - so it's sort "my thing"
If you want to know my settings for this picture - here they are :
ISO 200 > f/1.8 > 1/400ss

Currently I have the Nikon D50 with a 50mm 1.8 lens, but I'm REALLY hoping to upgrade to the D700 SOMETIME soon. Although I have no idea if that is going to be a possibility for me, money is really tight around here!

no, not that I know. I mean - we do have other neighbors (that are like 3 or 4 miles from us) that have horses, but I don't know the owners. And I have no idea what the horses are like either - we just see them out in the field all the time. They're BEAUTIFUL - one is black and one is a palomino, but I don't know if they ride them, or if the horses are even nice at all.
Personally, I would like to just GET another horse. But I'm not sure if we could afford that right now.

I figured you were a photographer. Lol. And I know what you mean...especially with the expense of horses. How much is the new D700? I'm in desperate need of a new camera.

The D700 is like $2500 (give or take). Pricey!
