I start off useing a rope on the leg, then refine from there. You use food as your motivation? I want my horses to do what I ask because I asked. Two ways of doing something, both work.

I use food to teach them something, then I want them to do what I ask when I ask ;)
I see the rope thing as a good thing, I know how to use it myself too, but did you explain it on ur show? Because I have my thoughts with that, because when its wrong used it could damage a horse and traumatizes ;)

Yes we work with small groups in our clinics. What we are trying to get across to those that come is how to communicate with their horse. Set boundaries, get control, mutual respect. Once you have all these things in place you can have more. Such as the tricks. Lots have learned to lay their horse down by coming to our clinics, very few did it in the two days they were with us, but because they went home and worked on it.
We are all about having a relationship with our horses built on trust and respect.
