Grandma's old trail ride Pictures

These are some pictures my grandma gave me of their eight day mountain trips from the early 80's. I was going through them and thought that I would share! :)

^staking out the lead animal of each group

^My Mom, when she was little, sleeping on her mare, Tonka

^My Mom jumping on Tonka

^My Mom is second from the rear

^ I'll leave you imagination up to this one!! Haha, guess what she's doing, I'll tell ya if you're right...

^ The grey horse is Yonachec, he became my Mom's horse a few years later. He was the horse I grew up on :)

^the bay is Bimbo, my grandpas old Quarab. My mom and aunt are laying next to him

Hope you enjoyed!! My grandma would've been happy that people were enjoying her pictures! :)

Those are great. I love to see the style back then.

I'm going to guess whoever that is is trying to get her bangs out of her eyes, and an ax was the only thing handy at the time lol.

Oh, I know! All the styles were so different, it even more weird to see some of the old show pictures, and the things they used to where in the ring! I love the horses too. :) Most of them look so SOLID, I mean fit and all muscled up. :)

Exactly, the ax was the only thing handy to get rid of her bangs! Lol

Very cool! I wish my family had pictures like that. For the axe picture, I'm going to guess a fake execution xD

Great pics! Looks like an awesome trip! Love the one with all the kids on the horse together, we have one like that on my sister's old grulla mare with all of my cousins.

The styles crack me up! I love looking at my mom's show pictures from the 70s. She had one bright canary yellow showmanship jacket & pants, with the matching bright yellow 10 gallon felt hat with red feather hat band. I will admit that when I was a teen I liked wearing some of her rail shirts from then with some pretty cool, crazy patterns! Some may make a comeback when my buddy Woodstock is back from injury, authentic 70s psychadelic patterns on a horse named Woodstock, how could I go wrong? Lol

Life is like a camera. Focus on what's important, Capture the good times, Develop from the negatives and if things don't work out, Take another shot.
