I'd just like to share.. This is Harley. A four year old chincoteague pony gelding I recently trained. This is a picture of him trying out the new harness before ground driving! You can't tell from the picture, but he kept sticking his tongue out so I stuck my tongue out at him... lol.
He's such a sweetheart. I work with about six chincoteagues and they're all the sweetest things. I think their breed must have a natural nice disposition because they all act like puppies. They also bond with individuals, I think. My friend holly, owns Spirit, a seven year old chincoteague mare. Holly started Spirit but isnt really into horses so she only sees spirit once every month or two months. But every time spirit sees Holly, she starts neighing and sticks her head over the gait. I've noticed that whenever I walk by Harley's stall, he neighs and walks up to the window and paws. He doesnt do that for anyone else... Whenever the two studs, Jigsaw and Jester see Holly's mom, they wont shut up until she comes over and gives them attention.Anyways, Harleys a dream. I rode him today and his neckreining has gotten so good. His only quirk that i've noticed is that he doesnt like fly masks. He's getting better though. I'm so proud of him, so much I think of him as my kid. Lol.
